Online Attorneys-at-Law Database Update (“e-Courts” – Supreme Court of Sri Lanka)

NOTICE OF INSTRUCTIONS.

Online Attorneys-at-Law Database Update   
(“e-Courts” – Supreme Court of Sri Lanka)

All Attorneys-at-Law registered with the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka are required to update their details in the Online Attorneys-at-Law Database, as referred to earlier. This update is mandatory in order to ensure that their records are kept up to date and to enable access to services provided through the Supreme Court website, including the issuance of Letters of Good Standing and other online services.

Accordingly, all Attorneys-at-Law are hereby informed that completion of the online database update is a prerequisite for obtaining user login credentials and for accessing all features and services available under the “e-Courts”.

1). Mandatory Documents for Online Database Update

1. Recent colour photograph (Soft Copy)

• Attire                   – Formal
• Background        – White
• Photo Size          – 2 x 2 inches
• File size               – less than 2 MB
• Certificate of Enrollment
  • Original (Hard copy)
• National Identity Card (NIC) / Valid Passport / Driving Licence
  • Hard copy

2). Name Changes

Please note that name changes will not be entertained during the online database update process unless the change has been officially effected in the 13^th Row of the Birth Certificate. (Attachment -I) This requirement will be strictly enforced.

In such instances, the following document must be submitted as proof:

• Amended Birth Certificate – Original

Both hard copies and soft copies of the Birth certificate must be submitted at the time of updating. The soft copy must be in PDF format and must not exceed 1 MB in file size.

Once the online database update is successfully completed, the Attorney-at-Law will be eligible to obtain user login credentials.

3). Venues

Convenient counters will be established at other courts across the island to facilitate Attorneys-at-Law in updating their information efficiently. Attorneys-at-Law are requested to click the provided link or scan the QR code to select their preferred counter.

4). Dates

• Supreme Court, Colombo: The Online Database Update will be conducted from 27^th January to 10^th February 2026 at the Supreme Court Original Building (202 Court House – 02^nd Floor [Near the Reference Room]), between 9.30 a.m. and 2.30 p.m.
• Island-wide Counters: Online Database Updates at all courts will be conducted from 28^th January to 11^th February 2026, commencing from 8.45 a.m., in accordance with the arrangements made by the respective courts.
