Introducing e-Signature for the November Oath Ceremony

Oct 06, 2025
by

The Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has decided to implement the use of Certified Electronic Signatures (CES) for all new Attorneys-at-Law enrolling at the upcoming November Oath Ceremony.

This initiative is introduced as part of the Digital Transformation of the Justice Sector under the “e-Court” concept initiated by His Lordship, the Chief Justice.

Accordingly, officials from LankaSign will be present to facilitate the necessary arrangements for obtaining CES for all apprentices scheduled to take their oath.

The document verification period at the Supreme Court Registry will be from October 7th to 24th, 2025. During this period, students are directed to obtain assistance for CES registration at the Supreme Court premises.

Important:

All apprentices taking their oaths in November must complete CES registration within the above-mentioned timeframe.

The above is a mandatory requirement, as the Supreme Court will not make available facilities for the placement of signatures on hard copies.

Failure to complete CES registration within the stipulated period will result in the Supreme Court being unable to accommodate such individuals for the upcoming oaths-taking ceremony.

By Order,

Registrar

Supreme Court of Sri Lanka
